The final movement of your journey will be the sacred monuments of Kunya-Urgench, before you continue your travels to Uzbekistan via the Shavat or Hojayli borders, carrying with you a collection of priceless memories.

Day 1. Farap Border — Ancient Merv — Ashgabat

• The Odyssey Begins: 09:00 — Meeting on the Turkmen side of the Farap (Alat) border crossing. We take care of all formalities so that your introduction to the country is smooth and effortless.

• A Journey to the Origins: A direct drive to the Merv oasis (approx. 250 km). Before diving into history, enjoy a traditional lunch in a cosy local teahouse in Bayramaly.

• The Majesty of Ancient Merv (UNESCO): Enjoy a comprehensive tour of one of the greatest metropolises of the past.

  • Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum: A 12th-century Seljuk masterpiece that still inspires awe with its grandeur.

  • Greater and Lesser Kyz-Kala: Mysterious “corrugated” fortresses rising from the desert sands.

  • Shrines of the Ashabs: Visit the sacred burial sites of the Prophet Muhammad’s companions.

  • Engineering Secrets: Explore medieval hammams and unique water storage systems (sardobas).

Day 2. Ashgabat — Immersion in a White-Marble Tale

Day 3. Ashgabat — Darvaza Gas Crater

• Capital Highlights: Continue exploring Ashgabat at a flexible pace. We will visit the landmarks that interest you most.

• The Heart of the Karakum: After lunch at a local restaurant, we head north into the vast sands (270 km).

• Natural Phenomena: En route, we stop at the Water and Mud craters to witness the desert’s strange, “pulsating” forms of life.

• The Magic of Darvaza: Arrival at the world-famous “Gates of Hell”.

• Sunset and Flame: A golden hour photoshoot followed by an atmospheric BBQ dinner right at the edge of the blazing abyss under the canopy of the southern sky.

• Night in a Yurt: Sleeping in a traditional Turkmen yurt allows you to truly feel the spirit and silence of the desert.

Day 4. Darvaza — Kunya-Urgench — Border

• Dawn Silence: An early visit to the crater for final photographs in the soft morning light.

• The Road to Ancient Khorezm: Breakfast at the camp and a drive across the desert highway to the monuments of Kunya-Urgench (260 km).

• UNESCO Heritage: A tour of ancient architectural masterpieces.
