• The Journey Begins: Meet at the ‘Shavat’ border at 10:00. Start your immersion in Dashoguz with a traditional lunch and a visit to the local bazaar to stock up on oriental sweets.

• Karakum Odyssey: Embark on a scenic 300 km drive into the heart of the desert, with stops at cosy teahouses to feel the tranquil rhythm of desert life.

• The Gates of Hell: The evening is dedicated to the legendary Darvaza Crater. Witness a breathtaking transformation from the soft hues of sunset to a fierce, roaring glow under the pitch-black sky.

• Overnight: Stay in an authentic yurt camp right by the edge of the flaming abyss.

Day 2: Darvaza – Ashgabat

Natural Wonders and White-Marble Grandeur

• Sunrise Magic: Wake to the first rays of sun over the crater followed by breakfast in the camp — the perfect start to your day.

• Desert Anomalies: En route to the capital, stop at the ‘Water’ and ‘Mud’ craters — fascinating natural phenomena hidden amongst the dunes.

• Ashgabat Brilliance: Arrive in the record-breaking capital. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the white-marble metropolis: monumental squares, futuristic parks, and golden domes that defy imagination.

• Overnight: At a premium hotel in Ashgabat.

Day 3: Ashgabat – Merv – Farap

Silk Road Heritage and the Amudarya Finale

• The Eastern Route: An early departure from the capital towards the ancient oasis.

• Breath of Eternity: Explore Ancient Merv (UNESCO). Discover the ruins of what was once the world’s greatest city, walk through ancient fortress gates, and touch the history of the Great Silk Road.

• Across the Nation: Continue to Turkmenabat for the final leg of the journey towards the border.

• Conclusion: Arrival at the ‘Farap’ border crossing. Our team will assist with formalities as you bid farewell to hospitable Turkmenistan.
